Day one: a character that can move
Setting up the Unity 6.3 project, importing placeholder assets, and getting a character walking, running and jumping.
Development officially starts today.
- Set up a new Unity 6.3 project and indexed it with Cursor so the AI assistant can navigate the codebase.
- Imported a handful of free environment and character assets as stand-ins. None of this is final art — it’s just enough to have something to move around.
- With Cursor’s help, wired up basic WASD movement — walk, run and jump — with animation.
It’s a grey box and a borrowed mannequin, but it moves. That’s the foundation everything else will stand on.
